A Transformative Space for Black Women to Heal, Lead, and Thrive
Mind Your Higher Ground™ is a healing-centered coaching and leadership development firm equipping high-achieving Black women and women of color to break free from burnout, reclaim their narrative, power, and peace to thrive unapologetically—on their own terms.
For too long, Black women have carried the weight of the world while putting themselves last.
We’re mothers, daughters, sisters, leaders, entrepreneurs, mentors, community leaders, advocates, and everything in between. We’re the ones holding it down at home, in the workplace, and for the culture.
We’ve been told to push through, to grind harder, to be strong—that our strength is our greatest asset, but never our greatest burden. That we should be grateful for the seats we’ve earned, even when those seats come with exhaustion, invisibility, and the quiet, suffocating weight of never being allowed to fall apart.
Due to racism and systemic oppression, we often feel that we have little choice even when it costs us everything.
I know, because I lived it. And I decided enough was enough.
I reached a breaking point and had to sit with myself and pause, so that I could BE.
Have you ever thought about the version of yourself that just gets to be?
What about the version of you who is tired of always being “the strong one”? What about the part of you that longs to exhale, to be held, to be poured into instead of endlessly pouring out? What about the version of you that is more than a title, more than a role, more than what you can do for others?
What happens when the weight of overperformance, over-functioning, and over-giving becomes too much? When burnout doesn’t just steal your energy—it steals your joy, your peace, your sense of self?
Mind Your Higher Ground was born from my own burnout healing journey—a place where Black women can finally exhale, rest, and rise into the highest version of themselves.
We center Black women. Period.
We understand that the burnout Black women experience is not the same. Our exhaustion is layered—deeply woven with systemic barriers, cultural expectations, and the unspoken pressure to always show up, hold it together, and prove our worth. Unlike mainstream wellness spaces, we don’t erase that reality. We address it head-on.
This space was built for us, by us. Every practice, every framework, every tool is designed with our lived experiences in mind. Because healing looks different when the world is constantly asking you to shrink, when your success is questioned at every turn, when rest feels like a privilege instead of a right.
Mind Your Higher Ground was created for you, Sis. This is your soft place to land, while you pause, heal, and RISE.
Higher Ground is the sacred God given space where our highest self resides, where mind, body, soul, and spirit connect. To mind your Higher Ground means tending to all these aspects, allowing one to thrive personally and professionally. Like tilling a garden, one must nurture every part of themselves to reach their fullest potential.
The name “Mind Your Higher Ground” is inspired by singer Shameka Dwight’s song “Higher Ground,” which celebrates Black women across the United States and around the world, affirming that they deserve everything they desire. The song also serves as a tribute to the life of Breonna Taylor, adding a deeper layer of significance to our mission.
At Mind Your Higher Ground, our mission is to help high-achieving Black women and women of color break free from burnout, trauma, and survival mode by centering healing as the foundation for growth. We equip women with the tools, support, and community needed to reclaim their narrative, restore their peace, step into their power, and rediscover joy and success—on their own terms. Through a healing-centered approach, we guide them toward their highest self—their Higher Ground.
Our goal is to help women build a personalized toolkit that empowers them to pause, be present, resource themselves, and act with intention, enabling them to thrive both personally and professionally.
At MYHG, we know that healing and development are not one-size-fits-all. That’s why we offer two distinct coaching models:
💡 RISE to Higher Ground (Group Coaching): A 12-session guided sister circle experience where Black women reconnect with themselves, their truth, and their vision—together. Through the RISE Framework (Root, Invest, Shift, Elevate), we help you heal from the inside out and build a life that nourishes you.
💡 1:1 Healing-Centered Coaching: A deeply personal, high-touch coaching journey that meets you exactly where you are. Rooted in the Pause, Ground, Align, Act method, this space is for women who need individualized support in reclaiming their time, peace, and power.
Both paths lead to the same transformation: breaking free from the weight of what no longer serves you and stepping fully into the highest version of yourself.
At Mind Your Higher Ground, we unapologetically center Black women—but we also recognize that women of color navigate similar challenges. That’s why we offer:
✨ 1:1 Healing-Centered Coaching for Women of Color – A private, affirming coaching space designed for Latina, Indigenous, and Asian women seeking to process their unique challenges, navigate burnout, and find alignment.
We also recognize the power of our RISE Transformation & healing-centered coaching frameworks for use with organizational and community initiatives.
✨ Corporate & Community Workshops – We partner with organizations that value the whole self when it comes to well-being and leadership development. From leadership coaching to burnout prevention and employee wellness, we help workplaces create cultures where individuals and employees don’t just exist—they thrive.
What Sets Us Apart
It’s not just about rest days or bubble baths. It’s about freeing yourself from the systems, mindsets, and trauma that keep you small.
So many wellness spaces aren’t made for us—but this one is. We don’t water down our experiences to fit into mainstream wellness spaces. We center Black women’s healing because we deserve spaces made with us in mind.
Healing is a journey, and you don’t have to walk it alone. Whether through group coaching or 1:1 work, MYHG is a space where you are deeply seen, heard, and supported.
The program offers an expansive range of resources that cater to various aspects of the mind, body, soul, and spirit-- personal, professional, mental, physical, and spiritual growth. This multi-layered approach allows clients to grow holistically.
Mind Your Higher Ground is committed to sustained, long-term transformation rather than short-term, surface-level solutions. The program helps clients build a toolkit of practices and systems designed for lifelong well-being and empowerment, setting the foundation for continuous growth.
While accountability is a cornerstone of most coaching programs, Mind Your Higher Ground offers accountability with compassion, recognizing that personal growth happens at different rates for everyone. Clients are held accountable to their commitments but in a way that fosters grace, understanding, and encouragement, rather than pressure.
At Mind Your Higher Ground, we are fully committed to providing a safe, unapologetic space for Black women to heal, grow, and thrive. We honor and respect Black women from all backgrounds and lived experiences, ensuring that every woman feels seen, heard, and valued. This is a space where you can show up as your authentic self without fear of judgment, rejection, or marginalization.
We have a zero-tolerance policy for hate, hate speech, disrespect, lack of confidentiality, or any form of “mean girl” behavior. Our community is built on mutual respect, compassion, and support, where Black women can engage openly and confidently in their journey of liberation and self-discovery. Here, your story matters, your healing is sacred, and YOU and your growth are celebrated.
